FS#604 - window merge

I would like to suggest a 'merge' subcommand for the 'window' command, which would join the backlog of one window with another, preserving proper chronological order.

Practical example:
A private conversation is taking place with another user. The other user's connection drops, and they come back on their alternate nick. The conversation continues in a new window, because the other user's nick is different, but the client did not see a nick change. It would be useful to be able to merge the two windows into one, rather than losing all of the old context.

Similar situations can occur when the client disconnects and rejoins channels, or when events happen too quickly and the client sees them out of order. This command would be useful for "cleaning up" the UI, especially for preparing to save the layout, but also for those of us with OCD.

If others are also interested in such a feature, I'd be willing to do what I can in the way of coding, though I have little experience. I suspect that this would be very much non-trivial. Almost as useful, and much easier to code, would be an 'append' command, which would do the same thing but not preserve chronological order. The situations I can think of where I would use 'merge', there is typically no overlap.

This task does not depend on any other tasks.
