FS#564 - Can't run Cygwin and Irssi simultaneously

If you run Cygwin after Irssi is started up, Cygwin bails out with an error of 'cygwin1.dll' already being loaded and that it's incompatible.

Here is the Cygwin message:
308 [main] ? (140) Z:\cygwin\bin\bash.exe: *** fatal error - system shared memory version mismatch detected - 0x2D1E009C/0x8A88009C.
This problem is probably due to using incompatible versions of the cygwin DLL.
Search for cygwin1.dll using the Windows Start->Find/Search facility
and delete all but the most recent version. The most recent version *should*
reside in x:\cygwin\bin, where 'x' is the drive on which you have
installed the cygwin distribution. Rebooting is also suggested if you
are unable to find another cygwin DLL.

This is because Windows loads the DLLs code once and reuses it for all processes that need the specific DLL.
First starting Cygwin and then starting Irssi also doesn't work because then Irssi hangs with a blank screen (for me at least).

Maybe Cygwin should be compiled in statically into Irssi?

This task does not depend on any other tasks.

I'm getting the same issue. If you run cygwin first, I think you can get irssi to fail to load...
