FS#446 - Option to disable wrapping?

Hello all!

I would very much like to see an option to disable the wrapping of text in Irssi. And then to be able to navigate from left to right with e.g. Shift and the arrow keys.

Speaking for myself, and probably many others as well, I hate wrapping. I just realized how silly it is always stretching the width of my PuTTY according to the width of my messages. Wrapping disrupts the flow of information, not to mention the beautiful theme I got running.

For instance when I code in Vim, I always make it a habit to :set nowrap so that my lines can go uninterrupted.

This feature would add a new spatial dimension to Irssi, where we previously could only scroll our text windows up and down we can now also go from left to right.

Please consider this someone!

Thanks a lot,

This scrolling would take some work to implement... and the code related to that is already "fragile" enough. It's the first time I hear someone ask this, it doesn't seem to be worth the trouble to me.
Thanks for the suggestion, but this probably won't be implemented.
